How It Works: From Cashier Device to Admin Map#

When a cashier opens the AskBiz POS app, the browser requests location permission once. A green dot appears in the header confirming GPS is active and sales will be tagged. Every completed sale automatically captures the device's coordinates and stores them alongside the transaction. No manual input required. In the admin dashboard at askbiz.co/pos, click the 🗺️ Map tab to see an interactive map with an orange pin for every geo-tagged sale. Click any pin to see the sale amount, time, cashier name, and payment method.

Enabling Location on the Cashier Device#

On iPhone (Safari): tap the address bar lock icon → Website Settings → Location → Allow. On Android (Chrome): tap the lock icon → Permissions → Location → Allow. The green dot in the POS header confirms location is active. If the dot is grey, location was denied — the sale will still process but won't appear on the map. Location is re-requested each session.

Privacy and Data Handling#

Location data is stored only at the transaction level — no continuous tracking between sales. Coordinates are visible only to the business owner in the admin dashboard, never to customers.
