Upload CSV or Excel Data

AskBiz accepts:

• .csv — comma or semicolon delimited
• .xlsx — Excel 2007 and later
• .xls — Excel 97–2003

File size limit: 50MB per upload. For larger files, contact hello@askbiz.co for an assisted import.

1. Go to /sources → CSV / Excel

2. Click Upload File or drag and drop

3. AskBiz analyses your columns and suggests a mapping

4. Review the mapping — correct any mismatches

5. Click Confirm & Import

The AI column mapping works best when your headers are descriptive (e.g. Order Date, Revenue GBP, Product Name) rather than codes (col1, A, X123).

For sales data, AskBiz works best with these columns:

• Date (required) — any standard date format
• Revenue (required) — numeric, in your home currency
• Product Name or SKU — for product-level analysis
• Quantity — units sold
• Customer ID — for repeat purchase and churn analysis
• Channel — e.g. 'Website', 'Marketplace', 'Wholesale'
• Country — for geographic analysis

You don't need all of these — AskBiz will work with whatever you provide, but more columns = richer insights.

CSV uploads are a point-in-time snapshot. To update your data, upload a new file. You can either:

• Replace the existing dataset (for a clean refresh)
• Append new rows to the existing data (for adding recent transactions)

Select your preference on the upload confirmation screen.
