Configuring Automatic Reorder Points

Set reorder levels so AskBiz alerts you or generates purchase orders when stock runs low.

What is a reorder point?#

A reorder point is the stock level at which you should place a new order to avoid running out. It accounts for lead time โ€” how long your supplier takes to deliver โ€” and your average daily sales rate. If you sell 10 units per day and your supplier delivers in 5 days, your reorder point is at least 50 units. AskBiz calculates this automatically based on your historical data.

Setting reorder levels#

Go to Inventory > Reorder Settings. For each product, you can set the reorder point manually or let AskBiz calculate it from your sales velocity and supplier lead time. Set the reorder quantity โ€” how much to order when triggered. You can also set a safety stock buffer to account for demand spikes or delivery delays.

Reorder alerts#

When stock falls below the reorder point, AskBiz sends an alert. The alert appears in your Daily Brief, on the Inventory Dashboard, and as a push notification if configured. The alert includes the product name, current stock, reorder point, suggested order quantity, and the preferred supplier.

Auto-generated purchase orders#

Enable auto-PO in Reorder Settings to have AskBiz create draft purchase orders automatically when stock hits the reorder point. The draft PO includes the product, quantity, and preferred supplier. Review and submit it โ€” or let it auto-submit if you trust the calculation. This closes the loop from detection to action without manual intervention.
