Enabling reservations#

Go to Restaurant > Reservations and toggle the system on. Set your default reservation duration โ€” typically 90 minutes for dinner, 60 for lunch. Set your maximum party size and how far in advance customers can book. Once enabled, reserved tables show as grey on your floor plan with the guest name and time displayed.

Creating a reservation#

Click New Reservation. Enter the guest name, phone number, party size, date, and time. The system automatically suggests available tables that fit the party size. Select a table and confirm. The guest receives a WhatsApp or SMS confirmation if you have messaging enabled. You can add notes โ€” birthday celebration, allergies, high chair needed โ€” visible to the host on arrival.

Managing walk-ins and waitlists#

When no table is available, add the party to the waitlist. Enter their name, party size, and phone number. The system estimates wait time based on current table occupancy and average turnaround. When a table frees up, the host receives a notification and can seat the next party with one tap. The guest receives a WhatsApp message that their table is ready.

No-show tracking#

If a reservation is not honoured, mark it as a no-show. AskBiz tracks no-show rates by day, time, and party size so you can identify patterns. If a specific guest has multiple no-shows, the system flags this when they book again. This data helps you decide whether to implement deposits for large party bookings.
