Cookie Policy Explained
What cookies AskBiz uses, why, and how to manage your cookie preferences — in plain English.
Types of cookies AskBiz uses
AskBiz uses cookies in three categories:
Strictly necessary cookies (cannot be disabled):
- Session cookie: keeps you logged in during your AskBiz session
- Security token: prevents cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks
- Cookie consent record: remembers your cookie preferences
Functional cookies (can be disabled):
- Preference cookies: remember your dashboard layout, date range preferences, and UI settings
- Onboarding state: tracks where you are in the onboarding flow so you can resume if you leave mid-way
Analytics cookies (can be disabled):
- PostHog analytics: records anonymised usage events (which pages you visit, which features you use) to help us improve the product. No personally identifiable or business-sensitive data is included in these events.
Managing your cookie preferences
To manage cookies:
1. Click Cookie Preferences in the footer of any AskBiz page
2. Toggle functional and analytics cookies on or off
3. Click Save Preferences
Your preferences are stored in a first-party cookie (ironically) and applied immediately. You can change your preferences at any time.
Disabling analytics cookies will not affect AskBiz's core functionality — your dashboards, AI Chat, and all features continue to work normally.
Third-party cookies
AskBiz does not allow third-party advertising or tracking cookies. The only third-party cookie is the PostHog analytics cookie, which is subject to PostHog's own privacy policy and is covered by AskBiz's sub-processor DPA.
If you use browser extensions that block all third-party cookies, AskBiz will function normally — the only impact is that product analytics will not be collected.
