Who AskBiz Shares Your Data With

A transparent list of the third-party services that process your data as part of AskBiz's operation — and what data each sub-processor receives.

AskBiz's approach to data sharing

AskBiz does not sell your data to third parties. It does not share your business data with other AskBiz users or use your data for advertising purposes.

AskBiz does use a limited number of third-party service providers (sub-processors) to operate the platform. These sub-processors process your data solely to provide their service to AskBiz — not for their own purposes. Each sub-processor is bound by a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) that restricts them to AskBiz's instructions.

Sub-processors and what data they handle

| Sub-processor | Purpose | Data processed |

|---|---|---|

| Amazon Web Services (AWS) | Cloud hosting and storage | All data stored on AskBiz platform |

| Stripe | Payment processing | Payment card data, billing details |

| OpenAI | AI response generation | Your questions and relevant data context (anonymised) |

| PostHog | Product analytics | Anonymised usage events (pages visited, features used) |

| Intercom | Customer support chat | Your name, email, and support conversation content |

| Mailchimp | Transactional email | Your email address and name (for billing and product emails) |

| Sentry | Error tracking | Error reports including anonymised session context |

This list is kept current — significant changes to sub-processors are notified to users at least 30 days in advance via email.

OpenAI and your data

AskBiz uses OpenAI's API to power its AI chat functionality. When you ask a question, the relevant context from your business data — along with your question — is sent to OpenAI for processing.

Important protections in place:

  • AskBiz uses OpenAI's API under a Data Processing Agreement — OpenAI does not use data sent via the API to train its public models
  • Business-identifying information (company name, exact revenue figures) is anonymised before being sent to OpenAI where possible
  • No personally identifiable data about your customers is sent to OpenAI — only aggregated metrics
  • Conversation history is not stored by OpenAI beyond the immediate API request

This means your sensitive business data stays within AskBiz's infrastructure except for the specific query context sent in each AI request.

International data transfers

Some sub-processors (including AWS and OpenAI) operate infrastructure in the United States. Data transfers to the US from the UK/EU are governed by:

  • For UK users: UK IDTA (International Data Transfer Agreement) or Standard Contractual Clauses
  • For EU users: EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)

All international transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards. AskBiz's DPA with each US-based sub-processor includes the relevant transfer mechanism.
