My Data Looks Wrong

Troubleshoot discrepancies between your AskBiz data and what you see in your store, accounting software, or other platforms.

Check your date range and timezone

The most common cause of data discrepancies is a mismatch in date ranges or timezones. AskBiz uses UTC by default. If your store is set to a different timezone (e.g. US Eastern), orders placed near midnight may appear in a different date in AskBiz than in your store dashboard.

Go to Settings → Business Profile → Timezone and set it to match your store's timezone. This will not change historical data but will fix future date allocation.

Gross revenue vs net revenue

AskBiz shows net revenue by default — revenue after refunds, cancellations, and (where applicable) marketplace fees. Your store platform typically shows gross revenue before these deductions.

To compare like-for-like, either switch AskBiz to gross revenue mode (Settings → Display Preferences → Revenue Type) or check your platform's net revenue report.

Refunds and returns processing lag

Refunds processed in your store platform take up to 24 hours to be reflected in AskBiz after a sync. If you processed several refunds today and AskBiz still shows the pre-refund revenue, trigger a manual sync and check again in an hour.

Multiple connected sources causing overlap

If you have both Shopify and Stripe connected, and your Shopify orders are paid via Stripe, AskBiz may double-count revenue if deduplication is not configured correctly.

Go to Settings → Integrations → Revenue Sources and check that one source is set as Primary and the other as Supplementary. AskBiz will use the primary source for revenue figures and only pull unique transactions from the supplementary source.

Tax-inclusive vs tax-exclusive pricing

If your store displays prices including VAT/tax but AskBiz is showing lower revenue figures, check your tax settings. Go to Settings → Display Preferences → Revenue Display and confirm whether you want revenue shown inclusive or exclusive of tax. AskBiz defaults to tax-exclusive to align with standard accounting practice.
