Connecting AskBiz to Zapier
Use Zapier to automate workflows between AskBiz and your other tools — send alerts to Slack, create tasks in Notion, or trigger emails when a metric crosses a threshold.
What you can automate with Zapier
The AskBiz Zapier integration lets you trigger actions in other apps based on AskBiz events. Supported triggers: New Anomaly Alert (fires when AskBiz detects a significant metric anomaly), Daily Brief Ready (fires each morning when your Daily Brief is generated), Metric Threshold Crossed (fires when a metric you specify crosses above or below a value you set), and New Churn Risk Customer (fires when a customer enters the high-risk churn segment). These triggers connect to over 6,000 apps available in Zapier.
Setting up your first Zap
Go to Settings → Integrations → Zapier in AskBiz. Click Connect to Zapier — you will be redirected to Zapier to authenticate your AskBiz account using your API key (found in Settings → API). Back in Zapier, create a new Zap: select AskBiz as the trigger app, choose your trigger event, and configure the filter (e.g. only trigger when the anomaly is on the Revenue metric). Then add your action app — for example, Slack → Send Channel Message — and map the AskBiz data fields to your Slack message template.
Popular Zap recipes
Revenue anomaly → Slack alert: When AskBiz detects a revenue anomaly, post a message to your #business-alerts Slack channel with the metric name, current value, and expected range. Daily Brief → Email digest: Send your Daily Brief summary as a plain-text email to yourself or your team each morning. Churn risk customer → CRM task: When a customer enters the high churn risk segment, create a follow-up task in HubSpot, Pipedrive, or your CRM. Metric threshold → Notion page: When monthly revenue crosses your target, automatically create a celebration post in your team Notion workspace.
Troubleshooting Zapier connections
If your Zap is not triggering: check that your AskBiz API key has not been rotated (Settings → API → Active Keys), verify the Zapier account is authenticated with the correct AskBiz workspace, and ensure the trigger conditions are correct (the Metric Threshold trigger only fires on the first crossing, not continuously while the metric is above/below the threshold). Test the trigger by clicking Test trigger in the Zapier editor — AskBiz will send a sample event so you can verify the data structure.
