File Status and Parsing
What the file status badges mean and what happens when AskBiz parses your uploaded file.
File status badges#
Each file in your list shows a status badge:
- Ready (green) — the file has been parsed successfully and is available for analysis in chat, dashboards, and other tools
- Processing — the file is still being parsed. This usually takes a few seconds
- Error — something went wrong during parsing. Check the file format and try re-uploading
What parsing does#
When you upload a file, AskBiz:
- Detects the delimiter (comma, semicolon, tab)
- Reads column headers from the first row
- Counts total rows
- Identifies numeric columns (used by Forecasts and dashboards)
- Stores a parsed sample for quick preview
Once parsed, the file is immediately available across AskBiz.
