Managing Dispatch and Handover
Organise outbound shipments, assign to couriers, and record handover with photo documentation.
The dispatch workflow#
When an order is ready to ship, move it to the dispatch queue. Go to Logistics > Dispatch. Orders awaiting dispatch show in a list with customer details, items, and destination. Assign each parcel to a courier or delivery driver. Print the shipping label. Record the handover โ the system timestamps when the parcel left your premises and which carrier received it.
Photo documentation#
Take a photo of the parcel before handover โ showing the label, packaging condition, and contents if applicable. Go to Dispatch > Photos and upload or take the photo directly. Photos are linked to the shipment record and timestamped. This protects you in disputes โ if a customer claims the item arrived damaged, you have photographic evidence of the condition at dispatch.
Bulk dispatch#
For businesses shipping multiple parcels daily, use the Bulk Dispatch view. Select all parcels for a specific carrier, print labels in batch, and record handover for all at once. The courier signs off on the total parcel count. Each parcel's tracking begins automatically once the carrier scans the first checkpoint.
Dispatch reports#
Track parcels dispatched per day, average time from order to dispatch, and dispatch accuracy. The goal is to minimise the gap between order confirmation and handover. AskBiz flags orders that have been awaiting dispatch for longer than your configured threshold โ default is 24 hours.
