Track shipping invoices, match them to shipments, and monitor logistics costs.
Recording logistics invoices#
Go to Logistics > Invoices and click Add Invoice. Select the carrier, enter the invoice number, date, and total amount. Link it to specific shipments by selecting tracking numbers. This connects shipping costs to individual orders so you can calculate the true landed cost and margin per sale including delivery.
Invoice matching#
When you receive a carrier invoice, match each line item to a shipment in AskBiz. The system flags discrepancies — if the carrier invoiced KES 2,500 for a shipment you were quoted KES 2,000, the variance appears in red. This catches surcharges, fuel adjustments, and billing errors that would otherwise go unnoticed.
Logistics cost reporting#
The Logistics Cost report shows total shipping spend by period, average cost per order, shipping cost as a percentage of revenue, and cost by carrier. Use this data to negotiate better rates with carriers — you have exact volume and spend figures to leverage. AskBiz includes shipping costs in your margin calculations so the Business Health Score reflects your true profitability.
