Why Is My Data Delayed or Out of Date?

If AskBiz is showing data that seems behind or not reflecting recent activity, this guide explains why and how to get your data current.

How often does AskBiz sync data?#

AskBiz syncs data automatically on a schedule that depends on your plan:

  • Starter: Every 24 hours (once daily)
  • Growth: Every 6 hours
  • Business: Every 1 hour
  • Enterprise: Near real-time (every 5–15 minutes depending on the source)

This means data in AskBiz is always slightly behind live — it reflects the state of your accounts at the last sync, not this exact second.

Force a manual sync#

If you need up-to-date data right now — for example, before a meeting or after closing a big deal — you can trigger a manual sync:

1. Go to Settings → Integrations

2. Click the integration you want to refresh

3. Click Sync Now

Most syncs complete in under 2 minutes. Large accounts (high transaction volume) may take up to 10 minutes.

Source platform delays#

Some data sources have their own internal delays before data is available via their API:

  • Amazon: Sales data has a 24–48 hour delay by Amazon's design (this is an Amazon limitation, not AskBiz)
  • Stripe: Payouts are delayed 2–7 days depending on your payout schedule — but charges appear immediately
  • QuickBooks/Xero: Transactions appear as soon as they're entered in the accounting software
  • Shopify: Orders appear within minutes of being placed

If your data is delayed by exactly 24–48 hours, it's likely a source-platform delay rather than an AskBiz issue.

Historical data vs recent data#

When you first connect a data source, AskBiz imports your historical data (typically the last 24 months). This import runs once and takes longer than regular syncs.

During the initial historical import, recent data (last 7 days) is loaded first so you can start using AskBiz quickly. The rest of your history fills in over 15–60 minutes in the background.

If your account is new and you're missing data from months ago, wait an hour and check again.

When to contact support#

Contact support at hello@askbiz.co if:

  • Data has not updated for more than 48 hours (for Starter plan) or more than 12 hours (Growth+)
  • Your integration shows 'Synced' but the data hasn't changed
  • Data is missing from a specific date range that should have synced
  • You see an error message in Settings → Integrations

Include your account email, the integration name, and the last date the data appears to be correct.
