The staff performance report#

Go to /pos/reports → Staff Performance to see a breakdown of sales by team member. For each staff member, the report shows:

  • Revenue processed — total sales value
  • Transactions — number of sales
  • Average basket — their average sale value
  • Items per transaction — how many products per sale
  • Refund rate — percentage of their sales that were refunded

Filter by date range to compare performance across different periods — daily, weekly, or monthly.

Shift-level analysis#

If your staff work in defined shifts, AskBiz can break performance down by shift. Configure your shift patterns in Settings → POS → Shifts (e.g. Morning 09:00–14:00, Afternoon 14:00–19:00). The report then shows performance per person per shift.

This is particularly useful for identifying whether performance differences are driven by the person or the time of day. A staff member who only works quiet Tuesday mornings will naturally have lower revenue than someone on busy Saturday afternoons — shift context makes comparisons fair.

Using performance data constructively#

Staff performance data works best as a coaching tool, not a ranking system. Look for:

  • Low items-per-transaction — this staff member might benefit from upselling training
  • High refund rate — could indicate mis-selling or product knowledge gaps
  • Consistently high average basket — learn what this person does differently and share it with the team

AskBiz AI can also help. Ask: *"Which staff member has the highest average basket this month, and what products are they selling most?"* to get actionable insights you can use in your next team meeting.

Privacy and transparency#

Performance tracking should be transparent with your team. Let staff know that individual sales data is recorded and how it will be used. In many jurisdictions, you are legally required to inform employees about workplace monitoring.

Staff members with Supervisor or Manager roles can see their own performance stats. Cashiers see only their shift summary. Only the account owner sees the comparative leaderboard across all staff.
