Checking In a Device for Repair
Step-by-step guide to creating a new service job, capturing customer and device details, recording faults, and taking intake photos.
Creating a new service job#
From the Repairs tab, tap 'New Job'. Search for an existing customer or add a new one. Customer name, phone number, and email are captured so notifications can be sent automatically. Returning customers have their details pre-filled from previous visits.
Recording device and fault information#
Enter the device type, make, model, and serial number. Then describe the reported fault in the free-text field. You can select from common fault categories to speed up entry. A clear fault description helps engineers diagnose the issue more quickly once assigned.
Intake photos and geo-tagging#
Use your device camera to capture photos of the item at intake. Photos are timestamped and geo-tagged automatically, providing a verifiable record of the item's condition on arrival. This protects both your business and the customer in the event of any dispute.
