Running Multiple Sectors from One POS Account

How to manage Restaurant, Retail, Repair, and Salon from a single AskBiz account — with separated intelligence, staff permissions, and a unified owner view.

What sectors are supported#

AskBiz POS supports four sectors from a single account: Retail (standard product sales), Repair / Service (job-based workflow with intake, parts, and collection), Restaurant (table orders, covers, kitchen workflow, daily brief), and Salon (chair-based services, stylist assignment). You do not need separate accounts or subscriptions — one owner account covers all sectors you operate.

The sector picker in admin#

In your admin dashboard at askbiz.co/pos, the Services tab contains a sector picker. Tap the sector pill that matches the type of work you want to manage. Restaurant tiles link through to pos.askbiz.co/restaurant. Repair tiles open the repair workflow. The Retail sector shows your product inventory, sales, and stock management. Switching sectors does not log you out or lose any data.

How staff see their sector#

Staff log in at pos.askbiz.co using their phone (WhatsApp OTP) or email. They only see the sector they have been assigned to by the admin. A cashier assigned to Retail sees the retail till. A repair engineer sees their job queue. A restaurant server sees the order flow. They cannot cross into other sectors. This keeps each role focused and prevents accidental cross-sector data entry.

Intelligence stays separated#

Revenue, transaction counts, staff performance, and anomaly detection all stay separated by sector. The Overview tab's Branch and Sector filter lets you drill into exactly the data you need. If you run a café (Restaurant) and a merchandise counter (Retail) at the same premises, you can view each separately or combined. This separation also means your restaurant daily brief only analyses restaurant transactions — it does not blend in retail sales.

Adding a new sector#

To start using a new sector, navigate to the Services tab and select the relevant sector pill. If you are setting up Restaurant for the first time, you will be prompted to configure your menu and service areas. Staff you assign to that sector will then be able to log in and start processing through that workflow. You do not need to contact support or change your subscription tier to unlock additional sectors.
